Run 2 is an endless-feeling sprint through a tunnel floating in space. The floor is built from tiles, and the tiles are not all there: gaps open up, whole stretches are missing, and below it all is nothing. Your character keeps moving forward on its own, so the game is about steering and timing a jump, not about picking a direction.
It is a different pace from the ragdoll and smash-the-room games on this site. There is no sandbox and nothing to break. A run lasts until you fall off the edge, and then you start again and try to get a little further. That makes it a good break between longer sessions of Kick The Teddy Bear.
The game was made by Player03 as a follow-up to the original Run. It is a 3D-looking runner played from behind the character, and it asks for quick reactions more than anything else.
How to play
Steer with the left and right arrow keys or A and D. Jump with Up or Space. If you crash or fall, pressing a key starts the run again.
The run is mostly small corrections. Tap rather than hold, because holding a direction sends you over the edge faster than you expect. Jump early when you see a gap coming, since a jump covers a fixed distance and you need to line up before it.
Tips
- Look ahead of the character, not at it. The gaps you need to deal with are several tiles away.
- Short taps on the steering keys keep you centred. Long presses overshoot.
- If a section is hard, note where you fell. The layout of a level does not change between attempts, so you can learn it.
- Stay relaxed when the speed picks up. Tense, repeated key mashing causes more falls than the gaps do.
